Introduction of Glimy Tablet

Glimy 1 Tablet is a medicine used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It helps to control blood sugar levels and thus prevent the long-term complications of diabetes. Use this medicine along with a proper diet and exercise for best results. It may cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) as a side effect. Monitor your blood sugar level regularly while you are taking this medicine.

How to use Glimy Tablet

How Glimy Tablet works

Glimy 1 Tablet is an anti-diabetic medication. It works by increasing the amount of insulin released by the pancreas in order to lower the blood glucose.

Alcohol
CAUTION
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Glimy 1 Tablet. Alcohol intake may increase or decrease the blood sugar lowering action in an unpredictable way.
Pregnancy
WEIGH RISKS VS BENEFITS
Glimy 1 Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the fetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
Glimy 1 Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Monitoring of the breastfed infant's blood glucose is advisable during maternal therapy with Glimy 1 Tablet
Driving
Your ability to drive may be affected if your blood sugar is low or high. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
Glimy 1 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Glimy 1 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Glimy 1 Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease. These patients can experience very low blood sugar levels which may become normal after a long time.
Liver
CAUTION
Glimy 1 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Glimy 1 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Glimy 1 Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease. These patients can experience very low blood sugar levels which may become normal after a long time.

What if you miss a dose of Glimy Tablet?

You should skip a dose of Glimy 1 Tablet, if a meal is skipped and add a dose of medicine if you eat an extra meal.

  • Take it shortly before or with the first main meal of the day (usually breakfast). Avoid skipping meals.
  • Be careful while driving or operating machinery until you know how Glimy 1 Tablet affects you.
  • It can cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) when used with other antidiabetic medicines, alcohol or if you delay or miss a meal.
  • Always carry some sugary food or fruit juice with you in case you experience hypoglycemic symptoms such as cold sweats, cool pale skin, tremor, and anxiety.
  • Your doctor may check your liver function regularly. Inform your doctor if you develop symptoms such as abdominal pain, loss of appetite, or yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice).
