Folitrax 10 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis.

Side Effects of Folitrax are Nausea, Vomiting, Loss of appetite, Dyspepsia, Abdominal pain, Increased liver enzymes, Stomatitis (Inflammation of the mouth).

How to use Folitrax Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Folitrax 10 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Folitrax Tablet works

Folitrax 10 mg Tablet is an immunosuppressant. In rheumatoid arthritis, it works by decreasing the activity of body's immune system. This decreases swelling, reduces pain and stiffness, and improves function. In psoriasis, it works by slowing down the rapid growth of skin cells.

  • Take it once a week on the same day every week.

  • It takes 6 to 8 weeks for Folitrax 10 mg Tablet to work. It is important to keep taking the medication.

Alcohol
CAUTION
Taking Methotrxate with alcohol increases the risk of liver damage.
Pregnancy
CAUTION
Folitrax 10 mg Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy.

Lactation
UNSAFE
Folitrax 10 mg Tablet is unsafe to use during lactation. Data suggests that the drug may cause toxicity to the baby, or the mother is suffering from a condition in which breastfeeding is not advisable.
Driving
Folitrax 10 mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, drowsy or affect your vision. Do not drive until your vision is clear.
Kidney
CAUTION
Folitrax 10 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Folitrax 10 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Regular monitoring of kidney function test is advised while you are taking this medicine.
Liver
CAUTION
Folitrax 10 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Folitrax 10 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Folitrax 10 mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
