How to use Evomid Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Evomid Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Evomid Tablet works

Evomid Tablet is a synthetic oestrogen (female hormone). In women of reproductive age, it helps in maintaining normal menstrual cycle (periods). In women undergoing menopause, it works by replacing deficient oestrogen levels, thereby preventing symptoms such as hot flushes, night sweats and mood swings.

Alcohol
CAUTION
Taking Ethinyl Estradiol with alcohol can cause minor side effects
Pregnancy
CAUTION
Evomid Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Human and animal studies have shown significant adverse effects on the foetus. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
Evomid Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Driving
SAFE
Evomid Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
There is limited information available on the use of Evomid Tablet in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
There is limited information available on the use of Evomid Tablet in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.

Expert Advice

  • Inform your doctor if you have had a uterus removal procedure or have any problems of the uterus (uterine fibroids, hyperplasia of the endometrium, uterus cancer).
  • Tell your doctor if you have a history of blood clotting disorder, liver problems, gall bladder disorders (e.g. gall stones), high blood pressure, diabetes, hearing problems, breast cancer, heart problems, high levels of fats in blood or migraine.
  • Seek immediate medical attention if you experience pain in your chest that spreads to arm or neck, unexplained migraine-type headaches, with or without disturbed vision, painful swelling in your leg, sudden chest pain and difficulty breathing.
  • Ensure that you undergo regular breast screening (for presence of lumps or any abnormal changes) and cervical smear test while taking ethinylestradiol.
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.
  • Do not take if allergic to ethinylestradiol or any of its ingredients.
  • Do not take if having recent blood clotting problems or related conditions like heart attack.
  • Do not take if suffering from breast or uterus cancer.
  • Do not take if suffering from untreated enlargement of inner wall of uterus (endometrial hyperplasia).
  • Patients who have or had liver diseases (e.g. jaundice).
  • Do not take if having any disorder related to haemoglobin (porphyria).

Interaction with Drugs

Taking Evomid with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Yes, femilon is a good method for contraception. You should take 1 tab daily at a fixed time for 21 days. After a gap of 1 week you can start the next pack. Don't miss any dose. Rest you can discuss with your.

you can take an I pill within 72 hrs on ur act. but u ve to remember it is only 90% effective. no medication is 100% effective. and u can not take I pills more den once as it is high dose progesterone and repeated doses causes cycle disturbances and unpredictable ovulation and increases chancea of unwanted pregnancy so please shift to a permanant method of contraception.
