What are the uses of Eritel 80 mg Tablet?

Eritel 80 mg Tablet is a blood-pressure lowering medication. It belongs to a class of medicine called angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs).

Eritel 80 mg Tablet is mainly used for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure). Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke.

Eritel 80 mg Tablet is also used for the treatment of chronic (long-standing) heart failure and to protect kidney function in those suffering from diabetes and mild-to-moderate kidney disease.

It can either be used alone or in combination with other blood pressure-lowering medicines.

Common side effects (may affect 1 in 10 people)

Eritel 80 mg Tablet may cause hypotension (low blood pressure) which may cause dizziness or headache. The risk of low blood pressure increases if you are dehydrated or taking diuretics (water pills) along with Eritel 80 mg Tablet.

Uncommon side effects (may affect 1 in 100 people)

Eritel 80 mg Tablet may raise potassium levels. It may cause urinary tract infections, upper respiratory tract infections, anemia, abdominal pain, vomiting, itching, back pain, muscle cramps, pain in chest, depression, sweating, and shortness of breath.

Rare side effects (may affect 1 in 1000 people)

In rare cases, Eritel 80 mg Tablet use may lead to an increase in white blood cells, low platelet count,severe allergic reactions, abnormal liver function, dry mouth, taste disturbance (dysgeusia) and rapid heartbeat.

How to use Eritel 80 mg Tablet?

Take this medicine as advised by your doctor. You should swallow the medicine as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. It may be taken with or without food and it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Eritel 80 mg Tablet works?

Eritel 80 mg Tablet is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It relaxes blood vessel by blocking the action of a chemical that usually makes blood vessels tighter. This lowers the blood pressure, allowing the blood to flow more smoothly to different organs and the heart to pump more efficiently.

What do experts say about Eritel 80 mg Tablet?

Eritel 80 mg Tablet can make you feel dizzy for the first few days. Take it preferably at bedtime and rise slowly if you are sitting or lying down.

Eritel 80 mg Tablet may increase the level of potassium in the blood. Avoid taking potassium supplements and potassium-rich foods such as banana and broccoli. Inform your doctor if you experience increased tiredness, nausea, or vomiting. These symptoms could indicate high blood potassium levels (hyperkalemia).

Driving

Patients with kidney disease

Eritel 80 mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment is required. However, inform your doctor if you have kidney disease. Regular monitoring of creatinine and potassium levels may be advised while you are taking this medicine.

Patients with Liver disease

Eritel 80 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment may be needed. Use of Eritel 80 mg Tablet is not recommended if you have severe liver disease. Please inform your doctor about the same.

What if I miss a dose of Eritel 80 mg Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Eritel 80 mg Tablet, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose. It is recommended to take Eritel 80 mg Tablet at the same time every day. This will lower the possibility of missing a dose.

Eating a healthy diet such as the DASH diet, which includes fruits, vegetables, and low-fat dairy products, can be very effective. You must also quit smoking and limit alcohol consumption while taking Eritel 80 mg Tablet. Avoid eating processed and packaged foods since they are high in sugar and trans fat. Consistent moderate intensity exercise for at least 30 minutes 5 times a week helps strengthen your heart and burns fat. If you can’t fit in 30 continuous minutes of exercise, you can split it up and do three 10-minute walks during the day. Monitor your blood sugar level regularly even if you are not a diabetic. Check your cholesterol every 6 months.

When not to take Eritel 80 mg Tablet?

Inform your doctor if you have increased potassium levels, liver disease, raised aldosterone levels, low blood pressure, diabetes, and bilateral renal artery stenosis.

She has lost interest in any type of household work, where she used to be a all time home maker. Now-a-days she is not having any energy to do any kind of work and everytime she is feeling sleepy.
