Edirox 150mg Tablet is used in the treatment of bacterial infections. It is used in infections of tonsils, sinus, ear, nose, throat, skin and soft tissues, windpipe and lungs (pneumonia).

How to use Edirox Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Edirox 150mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.

How Edirox Tablet works

Edirox 150mg Tablet is a macrolide antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth by inhibiting synthesis of essential proteins, which are required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.

  • Edirox will cure your infection and improve symptoms.
  • It may cause an upset stomach. If this happens to you, take it with food.

Edirox 150mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney
Edirox 150mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Edirox 150mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Liver

Edirox is an antibiotic and belongs to the group of antibiotics known as macrolides. Edirox prevents bacteria from growing, by interfering with their protein synthesis.
Q. Can I take Edirox with food?
Edirox is to be taken on an empty stomach at least 15 minutes before a meal. The Edirox tablets should be taken with good amount of water.
Q. Does Edirox treat streptococcal throat infection?
Edirox is used to treat throat infection caused by Streptococcus pyogenes. It is also indicated for other upper respiratory tract infections like tonsillitis and sinusitis. If you think you are suffering from a streptococcal throat infection, please consult your doctor as it requires proper diagnosis before the start of antibiotics.
Q. Can I take Edirox with codeine?
