Introduction of Roxid Tablet

Roxid 150 Tablet is an antibiotic used to treat various types of infections. It is effective in most infections of the respiratory tract, ear, nose, throat, lungs and skin.

Roxid 150 Tablet stops the bacteria from growing, which helps to resolve your symptoms and cure your infection. This medicine is taken orally, preferably either one hour before or 2 hours after a meal. No antacids should be taken 2 hours before or after taking this medicine. It should be used regularly at evenly spaced time intervals as prescribed by your doctor. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping the medicine too early may lead to the infection returning or worsening.

Inform your doctor if you have any previous history of allergy or heart problems before taking this medicine. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using this medicine. Commonly seen side effects seen with this medicine include diarrhea, nausea, pain in the abdomen and vomiting. These are usually temporary and subside with the completion of treatment. Consult your doctor if these side effects bother or worry you.

How to use Roxid Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Roxid 150 Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.

How Roxid Tablet works

Roxid 150 Tablet is an antibiotic. It works by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Thus, it stops the bacteria from growing, and prevents the infection from spreading.

Pregnancy

Roxid 150 Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Lactation
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Roxid 150 Tablet is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
Driving
UNSAFE
Roxid 150 Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Kidney
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Roxid 150 Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Roxid 150 Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
CAUTION
Roxid 150 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Roxid 150 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

What if you miss a dose of Roxid Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Roxid 150 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
