Eclarin 125mg Tablet is also effective against some infections (e.g., MAC or Mycobacterium avium complex) seen in people with reduced immunity. It stops the bacteria from growing, which helps to resolve your symptoms and cure your infection. This medicine is taken orally, preferably either one hour before or 2 hours after a meal. No antacids should be taken within 2 hours of taking this medicine. It should be used regularly at evenly spaced time intervals as prescribed by your doctor. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping the medicine too early may lead to the infection returning or worsening.

Common side effects with this medicine include diarrhea, nausea, abnormal taste, indigestion, abdominal pain, headache, vomiting, and rash. These are usually temporary and subside with the completion of treatment. Consult your doctor if you find these side effects do not resolve or persist for a longer duration.

Inform your doctor if you have any previous history of allergy or heart problems before taking this medicine. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using this medicine.

Eclarin 125mg Tablet is an antibiotic medicine that can be used to treat many different infections caused by bacteria. These include infections of the respiratory tract, ear, nose, throat, lungs, and skin. It is also effective against a bacteria known as H. pylori, which is associated with peptic ulcer disease. It stops further growth of the bacteria causing the infection and helps treat your infection.

This medicine usually makes you feel better quite quickly. However, you should continue taking it as long as it is prescribed even when you feel better, to make sure that all bacteria are killed and do not become resistant.

Side effects of Eclarin 125mg Tablet in children

Eclarin 125mg Tablet does not pose serious side effects and is well-tolerated by children. In case the side effects do occur, they’re likely to subside once the body adapts to the medicine. Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Eclarin 125mg Tablet may be taken with or without food.
Avoid Eclarin 125mg Tablet with tyramine-rich food such as cheese, smoked fish, meats and some types of beer.

How Eclarin Tablet works

Eclarin 125mg Tablet is an antibiotic. It works by stopping the bacteria from utilizing proteins that are necessary for the bacteria to survive and perform important functions. By doing so, it stops the infection-causing bacteria from growing further and prevents the infection from spreading.

Quick tips

Your child must complete the entire course of this medicine. Stopping the medicine without completing the dose can bring back the infection or make the bacteria resistant.
Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect.
Do not give Eclarin 125mg Tablet to your child for cold & flu until and unless advised by the doctor. Antibiotics are antibacterial medicines and do not work for symptoms caused due to viral infections.
Only give Eclarin 125mg Tablet to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses.
Stop the medicine and contact the doctor immediately if your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, and breathing difficulties soon after the intake.

Eclarin 125mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment is recommended.
Eclarin 125mg Tablet is usually considered safe to use in children with mild to moderate kidney impairment. However, in cases of severe kidney disease, dose modifications may be needed

Liver

CAUTION

Eclarin 125mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment may be needed.

Interaction with drugs

Taking Eclarin with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Life-threatening

Domperidone (Oral Route)

Do not consume Domperidone with Clarithromycin.

Life-threatening

Dronedarone (Oral Route)

Do not consume Dronedarone with Clarithromycin.

Life-threatening

Eplerenone (Oral Route)

Do not consume Eplerenone with Clarithromycin. Clarithromycin may raise blood levels of Eplerenone.

Severe

Carbamazepine (Oral Route)

If concurrent use is essential, watch out for symptoms such as impaired coordination, double vision, dizziness or confusion and consult your doctor if you experience them. Your doctor may monitor and adjust the dose of Carbamazepine accordingly. Clarithromycin may raise blood levels of Carbamazepine.

Severe

Amiodarone (Oral Route)

Factors such as old age, chronic heart issues, or low potassium levels may more frequently cause disturbance in heart rhythm, and your doctor may consider ECG monitoring in their presence.

Can Eclarin 125mg Tablet affect my child’s digestion?
