Uses of Claril Tablet

Claril 125 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of bacterial infections. It is used in infections of tonsils, sinus, ear, nose, throat, skin and soft tissues and lungs (pneumonia).

How to use Claril Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Claril 125 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Take it with food if you are experiencing stomach upset.
Avoid Claril 125 mg Tablet with tyramine-rich food such as cheese, smoked fish, meats and some types of beer.

How Claril Tablet works

Claril 125 mg Tablet is an antibiotic. It works by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Thus, it stops the bacteria from growing, and prevents the infection from spreading.

Pregnancy

Claril 125 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
SAFE
Claril 125 mg Tablet is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.
There may be a possibility of diarrhea or rash in the baby.
Driving
Claril 125 mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
Claril 125 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Claril 125 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
Claril 125 mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Claril 125 mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

What if you miss a dose of Claril Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Claril 125 mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

  • Your doctor has prescribed Claril 125 mg Tablet to cure your infection and improve your symptoms.
  • Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection to come back and harder to treat.
  • Take it 1 hour before or two hours after food.
  • Do not take antacids 2 hours before or after taking Claril 125 mg Tablet.
