Claron 250 Tablet is also effective against some infections (e.g., MAC or Mycobacterium avium complex) seen in people with reduced immunity. It stops the bacteria from growing, which helps to resolve your symptoms and cure your infection. This medicine is taken orally, preferably either one hour before or 2 hours after a meal. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping the medicine too early may lead to the infection returning or worsening.

Common side effects with this medicine include diarrhea, nausea, indigestion, abdominal pain, headache, vomiting, and rash. These are usually temporary and subside with the completion of treatment. Consult your doctor if you find these side effects do not resolve or persist for a longer duration.

Inform your doctor if you have any previous history of allergy or heart problems before taking this medicine. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using this medicine.

Claron 250 Tablet is an antibiotic medicine that can be used to treat many different infections caused by bacteria. These include infections of the respiratory tract, ear, nose, throat, lungs, and skin. It is also effective against a bacteria known as H. pylori, which is associated with peptic ulcer disease. It stops further growth of the bacteria causing the infection and helps treat your infection.

This medicine usually makes you feel better quite quickly. However, you should continue taking it as long as it is prescribed even when you feel better, to make sure that all bacteria are killed and do not become resistant.

Side effects of Claron 250 Tablet in children

Claron 250 Tablet does not pose serious side effects and is well-tolerated by children. In case the side effects do occur, they’re likely to subside once the body adapts to the medicine. Consult your child’s doctor if these side effects persist or bother your child. The most common side effects include-

Avoid Claron 250 Tablet with tyramine-rich food such as cheese, smoked fish, meats and some types of beer.

Claron 250 Tablet is an antibiotic. It works by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Thus, it stops the bacteria from growing, and prevents the infection from spreading.

Interaction with drugs

Taking Claron with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Pimozide (Oral Route)

Do not consume Pimozide with Clarithromycin.

Life-threatening

Ranolazine (Oral Route)

Do not consume Clarithromycin with Ranolazine. Clarithromycin may raise blood levels of Ranolazine.

Life-threatening

Domperidone (Oral Route)

Do not consume Domperidone with Clarithromycin.

Life-threatening

Simvastatin (Oral Route)

Do not consume Simvastatin with Clarithromycin. If Clarithromycin is essential, your doctor may temporarily stop Simvastatin. Clarithromycin may raise blood levels of Simvastatin.

Life-threatening

Ivabradine (Oral Route)

Do not consume Ivabradine with Clarithromycin. Clarithromycin may raise blood levels of Ivabradine.
