Celofos 2gm Injection

Prescription Required

Overview

Introduction

Celofos 2gm Injection is used in the treatment of different kinds of cancers. It may be given in combination with other cancer medicine to prevent bladder problems that can be caused by Celofos 2gm Injection. It may be also used to treat other conditions, as determined by the doctor.

Celofos 2gm Injection is usually given as a slow infusion (drip) into a vein (intravenously) over several hours. It prevents cancer cells from growing, as a result of which they eventually die. This stops the spread of cancer cells in the body. Since the growth of normal body cells may also be affected with this medicine, other effects may also occur. Celofos 2gm Injection often causes nausea and vomiting. However, it is important that you continue to receive the medicine, even if you begin to feel ill. Do not stop taking this medicine without first checking with your doctor. It is advisable to drink plenty of fluids while taking this medication. It will help to minimise damage to your bladder and kidneys.

This medicine may reduce the number of blood cells in your blood thereby, increasing the susceptibility to infections. Regular blood tests are required to check your blood cells along with kidney, liver and heart function during treatment with this medicine. It is important to use effective contraception to avoid getting pregnant or fathering a child during treatment. The dose and duration of the treatment with this medicine is decided by your doctor depending upon your disease.
