Calciterolin 0.25mg Capsule is the active form of vitamin D. It increases the levels of vitamin D in your blood which in turn raises calcium levels in the blood by helping in the absorption of more calcium from your intestine. This way it helps in the treatment of calcium deficiency and metabolic bone disease.

Calciterolin 0.25mg Capsule is also beneficial in increasing muscle mass, helps in the prevention and treatment of hypocalcemia, as well as helps in reducing fatigue and muscular pains. It boosts immunity and increases body resistance against infection.

This medicine is to be taken in the dosage as advised by the doctor. Consult your doctor if you plan to take any other form of vitamin D along with this medicine.

Interaction with drugs

Taking Calciterolin with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects
Phenobarbitone may reduce efficacy of Calcitriol. Your doctor may monitor your treatment and adjust the doses as per the observations.
Orlistat may decrease the absorption of Calcitriol. Ensure a gap of at least 2 hours between taking Calcitriol and Orlistat. It is recommended to take Calcitriol at bedtime.
Concurrent use may increase the risk of Digoxin poisoning. watch out for symptoms of Digoxin side effects such as impaired vision, skin rash, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or dizzine... More
Phenytoin may reduce blood levels of Calcitriol. Your doctor may monitor your treatment and adjust the doses as per the observations.
Carbamazepine may reduce efficacy of Calcitriol. Your doctor may monitor your treatment and adjust the doses as per the observations.
