Uses of Broclars Tablet

Broclars 250mg Tablet is used in the treatment of bacterial infections
It is used in infections of tonsils, sinus, ear, nose, throat, skin and soft tissues, windpipe and lungs (pneumonia).

Nausea, Vomiting, Abdominal pain, Diarrhoea, Allergy.


How to use Broclars Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Broclars 250mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Take it with food if you are experiencing stomach upset.
Avoid Broclars 250mg Tablet with tyramine-rich food such as cheese, smoked fish, meats and some types of beer.

How Broclars Tablet works

Broclars 250mg Tablet is a macrolide antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth by inhibiting synthesis of essential proteins, which are required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.

  • Broclars will cure your infection and improve symptoms.
  • It may cause an upset stomach. If this happens to you, take it with food.
  • Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
  • Diarrhea may occur as a side effect but should stop when your course is complete.
  • Inform your doctor if it doesn't stop or if you find blood in your stools.
  • Do not take antacids 2 hours before or after taking Broclars.

Broclars 250mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.

Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Broclars 250mg Tablet is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.

There may be a possibility of diarrhea or rash in the baby.
Broclars 250mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired
, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Broclars 250mg Tablet should be used with caution in patient
s with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Broclars 250mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Broclars 250mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients wi
th liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Broclars 250mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

Missed Dosageuses

If you miss a dose of Clarithromycin, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Broclars does not cause drowsiness when taken as prescribed. But, it may cause insomnia (sleeplessness) and thrush (infection of mouth caused by candida fungus)
When taken with birth control pills, Broclars does not affect birth control.
