Introduction of Ambistryn-S Injection

Ambistryn-S 1 gm Injection is an antibiotic used in the treatment of tuberculosis, in combination with other medicines. It works by stopping the growth of tubercular bacteria. Rarely, it may also be used to treat some other types of infections.

Ambistryn-S 1 gm Injection is given as an injection directly into a muscle under the supervision of a healthcare professional. It should be used regularly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping the medicine too early may lead to the infection returning or worsening.

This medicine may lead to nausea, vomiting, and injection site pain as side effects. Rarely, it may lead to balance disorder (loss of balance), kidney damage and hearing loss in some patients. Therefore, please follow all the instructions given by your doctor while using this medicine. Your doctor may monitor you with regular kidney function tests, hearing tests and urine tests during treatment. Consult your doctor if your condition does not improve or if any of the side effects bother you.

Use caution while driving or doing anything that requires concentration as this medicine may cause dizziness. It is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive, or breastfeeding.

How Ambistryn-S Injection works

Ambistryn-S 1 gm Injection is an antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.

It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Ambistryn-S 1 gm Injection. Please consult your doctor.
Ambistryn-S 1 gm Injection is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.
Ambistryn-S 1 gm Injection is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
Ambistryn-S 1 gm Injection may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Ambistryn-S 1 gm Injection should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Ambistryn-S 1 gm Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Questions Related to Ambistryn-S

I have diabetes from last 6 years and from last 6 months suffering from tuberculosis too, during the treatment of TB my sugar level increasing too high (more than 300 and it?s fluctuating too much some time it?s up to 400 +). Previously I was taking oral medicine to control blood sugar but recently I putted on insulin. I am attaching the prescription/reports for more details. Please suggest me, about my treatment. Should I continue this? Can I take herbal medicine also with this also? Thanks in advance

Mr PATIENT have not given the full history,If legs & other half of the body is not working, it is either due to injury over back {spine},or due to the disease in spinal cord ie. tuberculosis of you have to give full history, whether you have any injury to back,for how long this problem this problem i s,& how it is developed.

Q. How long does Ambistryn-S takes to work?

Usually, Ambistryn-S starts working soon after taking it. However, it may take some days to kill all the harmful bacteria and make you feel better.

Q. What if I don't get better after using Ambistryn-S?

Inform your doctor if you don't feel better after finishing the full course of treatment. Your doctor may increase the dose of Ambistryn-S or switch you to an alternate option, which may work for you. Also, inform him if your symptoms are getting worse while using this medicine.

Q. Can I stop taking Ambistryn-S if I feel better?

No, do not stop taking Ambistryn-S and complete the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cured.
