It can be taken with or without food, but it is better to take Am dopa 250 mg tablet at a fixed time.
Avoid Am dopa 250 mg tablet with high protein meals such as cottage cheese, Swiss cheese, protein powder, eggs and milk.

    Am dopa 250 mg tablet is used in the treatment of increased blood pressure

    How it works

    Am dopa 250 mg tablet works by decreasing the levels of certain chemical messengers in the body. As a result, Am dopa 250 mg tablet lowers the blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels.

    Headache, Dry mouth, Nausea, Vomiting, Fatigue, Drowsiness, Dizziness, Constipation, Erectile dysfunction, Sleep disorder, Depression, Orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing)

    • Avoid taking methyldopa if you have high blood pressure due to a tumor near your kidney called ‘phaeochromocytoma’.
    • Do not take methyldopa if you have liver or kidney disease, or depression.
    • Do not take methyldopa if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or breast-feeding.
    • Do not drive or use any tools or machines as you may feel drowsy or light-headed while taking methyldopa. 
    • Do not drink alcohol while you are using methyldopa.
