A Single Glass Of Alcohol Could Increase The Risk Of Breast Cancer In Women

Recent research suggests a single glass of alcohol per day could increase the risk of breast cancer in both pre and post-menopausal women.

-The study included an analysis of about 119 studies that included the data of over 12 million women and 260,000 breast cancer cases.

-As per the study, premenopausal women who consumed a single glass of wine or beer were at an increased risk of breast cancer (5%). In case of postmenopausal women, the risk of breast cancer was 9%.

-The study also laid emphasis on the importance of exercise in minimizing the risk of developing breast cancer in pre and post menopausal women.

-Findings were published in the report of World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) and the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR)
