Hepatitis Infection Found To Increase Risk For Parkinson’s Disease

People with hepatitis B or C may have a higher risk for developing neurodegenerative brain disorder, study suggests 

-The study, conducted by experts in the United Kingdom, cross-referenced hospital records of the people diagnosed with hepatitis and Parkinson’s disease.

-As per the study, people with hepatitis B were at a higher risk of developing Parkinson’s disease (76%) compared to those without the virus.

-It is important to take note of the fact that the study does not suggest that hepatitis causes Parkinson’s disease, however, it only suggests that it increases the risk for the disease.

-Findings were published in the journal of Neurology
