Uses of Vertistop Tablet

Vertistop 8 mg Tablet is used for vertigo and Meniere's disease. It helps to reduce the episodes of vertigo associated with Meniere's disease.

How to use Vertistop Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Vertistop 8 mg Tablet is to be taken with food.
Betahistine can cause mild stomach problems. Taking it with food can help to minimize stomach upset.

How Vertistop Tablet works

Vertistop 8 mg Tablet is a histamine analog. It works by improving blood flow in the inner ear which reduces the pressure of excess fluid in the inner ear. Excess fluid can send signals to the brain causing nausea, dizziness or spinning sensations (symptoms of Ménière's disease). Vertistop 8 mg Tablet additionally dampens down the nerve signals sent from the inner ear to the brain. This relieves the symptoms of Ménière's disease.

If you take Vertistop as instructed by your doctor, you should start feeling better within a few days of starting it. However, in some cases it may take a few weeks. The length of time for which you should take Vertistop varies from patient to patient. Some people respond rapidly to treatment, but others may take some time. Please be patient with your treatment and take your tablets regularly.

When taken orally, it takes 24 hours to remove Vertistop from the body.

Vertistop use may cause sleepiness in rare cases. It does not affect your ability to drive. However, remember that the disease for which you are being treated (sensation of spinning, ringing in ears and hearing loss associated with Meniere’s syndrome) can make you feel dizzy or sick and can affect your ability to drive.

Not in everyone, but in very rare cases it may cause low blood pressure. In case the medicine causes low blood pressure, you may feel dizzy for some time especially when you get up after lying down. If you experience any such symptom, inform your doctor.
