I WAS HAVING SYMPTOMS OF ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION FROM THE LAST 6-7 YEARS AND WAS NOT ABLE TO COPE UP WITH DAILY LIFE SITUATIONS LIKE INTERACTING WITH THE PEOPLE AROUND ME ETC. I THEN CONSULTED A PSYCHIATRIST WHO GAVE ME A TABLET CALLED D-VENTIN WHICH IS COMPOSED OF desvenlafaxine SALT AND IS BASICALLY A SNRI. THE DOCTOR INCREASED THE DOSAGE FROM 50 MG TO 200 MG IN ABOUT 7-8 MONTHS. I HAVE FELT QUITE BETTER WITH THIS MEDICINE AND HAS ALMOST FORGOT MY ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION. BUT I HAVE DEVELOPED AN ADDICTION OF THIS DRUG AND CANNOT DO WITHOUT THIS. KINDLY HELP ME IN GETTING RID OF THIS DRUG.
Dr. Jyoti Kapoor Madan
Psychiatrist
Based in your clinical history, your doctor plans the type of medicine and it's dose and duration. For first episode of anxiety/ depression/ panic, the usual maintenance phase is 6 months of asymptomatic period, after which medicines can be gradually tapered. But treatment may need to continue longer depending on severity and frequency of episodes. To take any decision to change medication or stop them, several factors have to be taken in account for which regular follow up with your psychiatrist is important. For second opinion, seek a proper consultation with another psychiatrist and take along your previous prescriptions. Antidepressants are not addictive, the reason the symptoms come back is because there is an endogenous disturbance of neurochemicals and like any other chronic illness, if brain is not able to maintain the chemical balance, symptoms return when medication is stopped.
Hello sir, I have been taking tablets for anxiety and depression for last one year. Gradually my doctor decreased dosage. Now iam using stresloc, Opiprol(antidepressant), and Alzolam 0.5. With capi gold vitamin tablet.I have generalised anxiety disorder. Six days ago I dint take that stresloc tablet. It's a combination of alprazolam and propranolol. And it's for morning and night. I decided to skip the morning dosage. First day I dint feel anything. But I couldn't sleep well. Second day I was feeling migraine in head. Anxiety has increased. On that day night I felt there was a fluid running in my head. At that same time , I heard some insect sounds coming from my head. It means insects are produced sound at night time and it's pitch level is high. That sound disturbed me a lot and my concentration was always on that. Before that incident I was watching movie through headphone with full sound in my mobile. I always used to watch movies or videos using headphone with full sound . After that incident I used to take that morning dosage also. Anxiety has controlled but still that ringing sound disturbed at some time . Not all time. My question is that ringing sound produced by any ear problem or that anxiety effects. Plz reply fast ly bcoz it affects my concentration Is that ear problem or anxiety effects??
