Tenodipin 50mg Tablet is used in the treatment of HIV infection and chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. It prevents the multiplication of viruses in human cells. This stops the virus from producing new viruses and clears up your infection.

Tenodipin 50mg Tablet should be used in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Take it with food, as this increases the absorption of the medicine into the body. It is important to keep taking them until your doctor tells you it is safe to stop.

Common side effects of this medicine include headache, diarrhea, nausea, joint pain, abdominal pain, and indigestion. Please consult your doctor if it persists for a longer duration. These are usually not serious but tell your doctor if they bother you or do not go away. Rarely, some people may experience a skin reaction or liver damage. What if you forget to take Tenodipin Tablet?

Taking Tenodipin with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects
Rifampicin may reduce blood levels of Tenofovir Alafenamide. Do not consume Tenofovir Alafenamide with Rifampicin.
Rifampicin may reduce blood levels of Tenofovir Alafenamide. Do not consume Tenofovir Alafenamide with Rifampicin.
Fosphenytoin may reduce blood levels of Tenofovir Alafenamide. Do not use Tenofovir Alafenamide with Fosphenytoin. If concurrent use is essential, talk to your doctor.
Rifabutin may reduce blood levels of Tenofovir Alafenamide. Do not consume Tenofovir Alafenamide with Rifabutin.
Oxcarbazepine may reduce blood levels of Tenofovir Alafenamide. Do not use Tenofovir Alafenamide with Oxcarbazepine. If concurrent use is essential, talk to your doctor.

In case of HIV-1 infection, Tenodipin 50mg Tablet may reduce the risk of passing the virus to others, but the chances of infecting others still persist. However, in case of HBV infection, Tenodipin 50mg Tablet has not proven to reduce risk of transferring the virus to others. Therefore, the patients of both HIV-1 infection and HBV infection should practice safe sex and should not share dirty needles.

If vomiting occurs within 1 hour of taking Tenodipin 50mg Tablet then you should take another tablet. However, if you vomit after more than an hour of taking Tenodipin 50mg Tablet then you need not take another tablet. Consult your doctor if you have vomiting every time you take Tenodipin 50mg Tablet or if the vomiting persists for a longer duration.

What should I do if I forget to take Tenodipin 50mg Tablet?

If you forget to take Tenodipin 50mg Tablet within 12 hours of the time you usually take it, take Tenodipin 50mg Tablet with food as soon as possible and resume the normal dosing schedule. However, if it had been more than 12 hours since you have taken the medicine and it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and simply resume the usual dosing schedule.
