How Satromax O Tablet works

Satromax O 300 mg/200 mg Tablet is a combination of two antibiotics: Satranidazole and Ofloxacin. Satranidazole kills parasites and anaerobic bacteria that cause infections by damaging their DNA. Ofloxacin works by preventing the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing the bacteria. Together, they treat your infection effectively.

Yes, the use of Satromax O can cause dizziness (feeling faint, weak, unsteady or lightheaded) in some patients. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded, it is better if you rest for some time and resume once you feel better.

Few patients have had seizures (fit) on taking anti-inflammatory medicines (ibuprofen) with quinolone antibiotics (ofloxacin). This is very unlikely to happen. But to be safe, do not take ibuprofen with one of these antibiotics, unless your doctor has told you to take it.

Q. Can I take alcohol while taking Satromax O?

Alcohol should not be consumed while you are taking this medicine as it may lower the blood pressure and causes dizziness and lightheadedness.

Satromax O, when taken along with insulin or some other diabetes medication, increases the risk of having low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). This happens due to the presence of ofloxacin in it.
