    Roximet 150mg tablet is used in the treatment of bacterial infections and bacterial skin infections

    How it works

    Roximet 150mg tablet is an antibiotic. It stops the bacterial growth by inhibiting synthesis of essential proteins, which are required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.

    Do not start or continue roxithromycin and consult your doctor: 
    • if you are allergic to roxithromycin, or to any of the other ingredients in roxithromycin tablets, or other similar drugs like erythromycin, azithromycin, or clarithromycin.
    • if you develop diarrhea with blood in stools.

    Is roxithromycin same as penicillin or erythromycin?
    Roxithromycin, penicillin and erythromycin are antibiotics. Roxithromycin and erythromycin belong to the macrolide group of antibiotics. Macrolides and penicillins act differently, but they are used to treat similar type of infections

    Is roxithromycin a strong antibiotic?
    Roxithromycin is effective for treating ear, nose and throat infections, pneumonia (lung infection), skin infections and infections of the genitalia. It does not treat infections other than these. Also, roxithromycin has a good safety profile if used at prescribed doses for the prescribed duration as advised by your doctor
