Uses of Rizatan Tablet
Rizatan 5 mg Tablet is used in acute attack of migraine. It relieves the symptoms of migraine and prevents the attack from becoming worse.

How to use Rizatan Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Rizatan 5 mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
How Rizatan Tablet works
Migraine headaches are thought to result from the dilatation of blood vessels in the head. Rizatan 5 mg Tablet works by constricting (narrowing) these blood vessels, thereby relieving the migraine headaches.

Interaction with alcohol is unknown. Please consult your doctor.
Rizatan 5 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Rizatan 5 mg Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Rizatan 5 mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Rizatan 5 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Rizatan 5 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Rizatan 5 mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.

  • Some tips that may help avoid a migraine attack:
    • Have your meals at the same time everyday
    • Avoid bright lights and extreme temperatures
    • Avoid loud music and noisy places
    • Avoid chocolates, cheese, processed food, alcohol and smoking
    • Get enough sleep and avoid stress
  • It may cause sleepiness. Don't drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how it affects you.
  • Notify your doctor if your migraine occurs more often after starting the medication.
  • Notify your doctor if you have stomach pain, headache, bloody diarrhoea or worsening high blood pressure.
  • Inform your doctor if you have a history of heart disease or stroke.
  • This medication does not prevent migraine attacks from happening.
