Ribavin 100mg Capsule should be taken in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. It should be taken with food. You should drink plenty of water while on treatment with this medicine as it helps to prevent dehydration and kidney damage. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Some side effects of this medicine include headache, muscle pain, weakness, fatigue, and fever. Inform your doctor if these side effects persist for a longer duration. Please consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or breastfeeding.

Interaction with drugs

Taking Ribavin with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects
Life-threatening

Didanosine (Oral Route)

Do not consume Didanosine with Ribavirin.
Severe

Azathioprine (Oral Route)

If concurrent use is essential, watch out for symptoms such as fatigue, fever, mouth sores, nausea or vomiting and consult your doctor if you experience them. They may adjust the doses as per the observations.
Moderate

Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (Oral Route)

If concurrent use is essential, your doctor may monitor your treatment and adjust the doses as per the observations. Ribavirin may reduce blood levels of active form of Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate.
Moderate

Zidovudine (Oral Route)

Do not consume Zidovudine with Ribavirin. If concurrent use is essential, watch out for symptoms such as weakness, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, irregular heartbeat, fatigue, loss of appetite, easy bruising or excessive bleeding and consult your doctor if you experience them. Ribavirin may reduce the efficacy of Zidovudine.
Moderate

Lamivudine (Oral Route)

Watch out for symptoms such as weakness, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, irregular heartbeat, fatigue or loss of appetite and consult your doctor if you experience them.
