How to use Restyl Tablet SR

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Restyl 0.5 mg Tablet SR may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Restyl Tablet SR works

Restyl 0.5 mg Tablet SR is a benzodiazepine. It works by increasing the action of a chemical messenger (GABA) which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.

Restyl 0.5 mg Tablet SR may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.
Pregnancy

Restyl 0.5 mg Tablet SR is unsafe to use during pregnancy.
There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation

Restyl 0.5 mg Tablet SR is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Driving
Restyl 0.5 mg Tablet SR may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney
Restyl 0.5 mg Tablet SR is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Restyl 0.5 mg Tablet SR may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
CAUTION
Restyl 0.5 mg Tablet SR should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Restyl 0.5 mg Tablet SR may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

What if you miss a dose of Restyl Tablet SR?

If you miss a dose of Restyl 0.5 mg Tablet SR, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

I am 30 years old a married person .I have a big problem for sleeping. I wont get sleep whole night early morning i will get sleep and 7 oclock i will wake up so full day i feel so bad i think i am suffering from anxiety because some days i used to take restyl tab that time problem was fully gone now wt should i do Sould i continue this tablet again?

Sleep problems are often caused by underlying physical and/ or psychological cause. This requires examination of the patient so that proper treatment can be initiated. Often stress/ anxiety/ depression or mood disorder needs to be dealt with and sleeping pills ( like restyl) are not adequate treatment. Benzodiazepines( alprazolam) are generally safe but in sensitive individuals paradoxical reaction can occur. Usually these happen in too young or too old individuals. Rarely disorientation my occur in adults too.
