How to use Repam Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Repam 5 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Repam Tablet works

Repam 5 mg Tablet is a benzodiazepine. It works by increasing the action of a chemical messenger (GABA) which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.

Alcohol
CAUTION
Repam 5 mg Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Pregnancy
WEIGH RISKS VS BENEFITS
Repam 5 mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy.
There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
CAUTION
Repam 5 mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Repam 5 mg Tablet should be used for short periods and sleepiness of the baby should be watched. The withdrawal of Repam 5 mg Tablet should be gradual.
Driving
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Repam 5 mg Tablet can make you sleepy, forgetful, and have poor co-ordination. This may affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
Repam 5 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Repam 5 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Dose adjustment may be required if it is to be given for a long period
Liver
There is limited information available on the use of Repam 5 mg Tablet in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.

What if you miss a dose of Repam Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Repam 5 mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
