How to use Prarimol SR Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Prarimol SR 1.05 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Prarimol SR Tablet works

Prarimol SR 1.05 mg Tablet works by increasing the action of dopamine, a chemical messenger that is needed to control movement in the brain.

Alcohol
CAUTION
Prarimol SR 1.05 mg Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Pregnancy
WEIGH RISKS VS BENEFITS
Prarimol SR 1.05 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
CAUTION
Prarimol SR 1.05 mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Prarimol SR 1.05 mg Tablet suppresses serum prolactin and may interfere with breastfeeding.
Driving
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Prarimol SR 1.05 mg Tablet can cause hallucinations (seeing, hearing or feeling things that are not there). This may affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
Prarimol SR 1.05 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Prarimol SR 1.05 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
Prarimol SR 1.05 mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Prarimol SR 1.05 mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

  • You have been prescribed Prarimol SR 1.05 mg Tablet to treat your symptoms of Parkinson's disease and/or restless leg syndrome.
  • It can be taken with or without food. Taking it with food may reduce nausea.
  • Inform your doctor if you develop compulsive behaviors that are hard to control, such as binge eating, gambling, spending money, and sexual urges.
  • Avoid activities that require you to be alert, such as driving a car until you know how this medication affects you.
  • When you first start taking Prarimol SR 1.05 mg Tablet, it may cause sudden drop in your blood pressure when you change positions. To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down.
  • Talk to your doctor in case you develop hallucinations or other changes in your behavior.
  • Do not stop taking the medication suddenly without talking to your doctor.
  • For restless leg syndrome, take this medicine 2 to 3 hours before bedtime.

My father is suffering from Parkinson's disease from last 3 years.From June 2016 we have changed the doctor and she is suggested to take syndopa plus ,syndopa Cr and amantral.from last 14 days ,my father's behaviour suddenly changed,mood has changed.his behaviour becomes suspesious about us.he was denying to take the medicine and become violent.so we admitted him in hospital.our neurologist suggested that he may have schizophrenia has he is having psychotic history.may be because of that he is behaving like this.so now we have psychiatrist treatment also with it.i am really confused.is he suffering because of Parkinson's or he is really having psychological problem.please guide me
