Introduction of Peelar Tablet

Peelar 10 mg Tablet is a medicine used to treat various heart conditions such as hypertension (high blood pressure), angina (heart-related chest pain) and arrhythmia (irregular heart rhythm). It lowers blood pressure, thus decreasing the risk of future heart attack. This medicine is also used in the treatment of various non-heart conditions like anxiety, migraine, and tremors. It is often used to treat an over functioning thyroid gland as well. It also decreases the risk of bleeding in the gut caused by high blood pressure in the liver. It should be taken empty stomach for best results. Weakness or tiredness may occur as a common side effect which usually disappears with time. This medicine should not be stopped abruptly and should be taken strictly as advised by your doctor.

How to use Peelar Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Peelar 10 mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
Avoid Peelar 10 mg Tablet with high-fat meals such as olive oil, nuts & seeds (Brazil nuts), dark chocolate, butter and meat.

How Peelar Tablet works

Peelar 10 mg Tablet is a beta blocker. It works by affecting the body’s response to nerve impulses, especially in the heart. It slows down your heart rate and makes it easier for the heart to pump blood around the body. It also widens the blood vessels in the body for better blood flow.

Peelar Tablet related warnings

Alcohol
CAUTION
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Peelar 10 mg Tablet. Taking Propranolol with alcohol may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate.
Pregnancy
WEIGH RISKS VS BENEFITS
Peelar 10 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the fetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
Peelar 10 mg Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Driving
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Peelar 10 mg Tablet may cause visual disturbances, hallucinations, fatigue, mental confusion, dizziness or tiredness. This may affect your driving ability.
Kidney
SAFE
Peelar 10 mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Peelar 10 mg Tablet is recommended.
However, inform your doctor if you have any kidney disease. Peelar 10 mg Tablet may be started with a low dose and then increased further. Regular monitoring of blood pressure is advisable for dose adjustment.
Liver
CAUTION
Peelar 10 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Peelar 10 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

What if you miss a dose of Peelar Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Peelar 10 mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Q. Can Peelar be used in asthmatics?

No, Peelar cannot be used in asthmatics. Peelar is a non-specific beta receptor blocker. Using Peelar in asthma patients can cause breathing problems, which may trigger an asthma attack.

Q. Can I take fluoxetine with Peelar?

No, you should avoid taking fluoxetine with Peelar. The reason being, fluoxetine may cause an increase in levels of Peelar in body which may increase its toxicity.
