Uses

Nikoran 2mg injection is used in the treatment of angina (chest pain), heart failure and increased blood pressure.

How it works

Nikoran 2mg injection works by relaxing blood vessel which lower blood pressure and allows more blood and oxygen to reach the heart and other organs.

Do not start or continue nicorandil and consult your doctor:
  • If you have severe mouth sores (ulceration).
  • If you are taking medication to lower blood pressure.
  • If your taking medication to treat inflammation (corticosteroids).
  • If you have blood volume depletion or fluid in the lungs (acute pulmonary edema).
The tablets are sensitive to moisture; hence the patients should be advised to keep the tablets in their blister until intake. Nicorandil tablets are not suitable to take to treat an angina attack. Blood pressure-lowering effects of nicorandil can reduce the ability to drive or to use machines. This effect can be increased in conjunction with alcohol. Caution should be maintained while driving or operating heavy machinery.
