How Metoclop Tablet works

Metoclop Tablet is a prokinetic. It works on the region in the brain that controls vomiting. It also acts on the upper digestive tract to increase the movement of the stomach and intestines, allowing food to move more easily through the stomach.

Alcohol
CAUTION
Metoclop Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Pregnancy
PROBABLY SAFE
Metoclop Tablet is probably safe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
CAUTION
Metoclop Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Driving
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Metoclop Tablet may cause drowsiness, dizziness, dyskinesia and dystonias which could affect the vision and may interfere with the ability to drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
Metoclop Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Metoclop Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
Metoclop Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Metoclop Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

What if you miss a dose of Metoclop Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Metoclop Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
