Magas 400mg Suspension


Product introduction

Magas 400mg Suspension is used in the treatment of acidity, intestinal ulcers and stomach ulcers. Such ulcers are caused due to excess production of acid in the stomach. This medicine is an antacid that works by neutralizing stomach acid.

Magas 400mg Suspension may be taken with or without food preferably at bedtime in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your doctor know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine. Remember you should avoid this medicine, if you have signs of appendicitis or inflamed bowel (such as lower abdominal pain, cramping, bloating, nausea, vomiting).

It is important to consult a doctor before taking this medicine if you are suffering from severe constipation, severe stomach, or kidney disease. It is an effective medicine with very little or no side effects however it may cause constipation, so it is better to take plenty of fluids while taking this medicine. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor before taking this medicine.

Interaction with drugs

Taking Magas with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects
Magaldrate may reduce blood levels of Raltegravir. Do not consume Raltegravir with Magaldrate. If concurrent use is essential, please consult your doctor.
Magaldrate may decrease the absorption of Chloroquine. Ensure a gap of at least 4 hours between taking Chloroquine and Magaldrate.
Magaldrate may decrease the absorption of Ursodeoxycholic Acid. Ensure a gap of at least 2 hours between taking Ursodeoxycholic Acid and Magaldrate.
Magaldrate may reduce blood levels of Azithromycin. Do not consume Azithromycin with Magaldrate. If concurrent use is essential, your doctor may monitor your treatment and adjust ... More
Magaldrate may reduce the efficacy of Ofloxacin. To take Ofloxacin, ensure a gap of at least 6 hours before or after taking Magaldrate.
