Uses of Madwell Tablet

Madwell 10 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of schizophrenia and mania.

  • Orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing)
  • Dryness in mouth
  • Weight gain
  • Increased prolactin level in blood
  • Constipation
  • Muscle rigidity

How to use Madwell Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Madwell 10 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Madwell Tablet works

Madwell 10 mg Tablet is an atypical antipsychotic. It works by affecting the levels of chemical messengers (dopamine and serotonin) to improve mood, thoughts and behavior.

Alcohol
CAUTION
Madwell 10 mg Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.
Pregnancy
WEIGH RISKS VS BENEFITS
Madwell 10 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
CAUTION
Madwell 10 mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Driving
Madwell 10 mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney
SAFE
Madwell 10 mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Madwell 10 mg Tablet is recommended.
Liver
Madwell 10 mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Madwell 10 mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

  • It may take 4 to 6 weeks to see full effects on thoughts and mood. Keep taking it as prescribed.
  • Use caution while driving or doing anything that requires concentration as Madwell 10 mg Tablet can cause dizziness and sleepiness.
  • It may increase your weight, blood sugar and cholesterol. Eat healthy, exercise regularly and monitor your blood levels regularly.
  • To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down.
  • Do not stop taking Madwell 10 mg Tablet without talking  to your doctor first as it may cause worsening of symptoms.
