It can be taken with or without food, but it is better to take Macorate 600mg tablet at a fixed time.

Magnesium Valproate(600 mg)


Macorate 600mg tablet is used in the treatment of fits (seizures). It is also used to prevent abnormal mood swings in bipolar disorder patients.

How it works

Macorate 600mg tablet belongs to a class of drugs called anticonvulsants. Macorate 600mg tablet dissociates into magnesium and valproic acid ions in the gastrointestinal tract and increases the levels of certain chemical messengers in the central nervous system (CNS) thereby decreasing symptoms associated with fits and mood swings.

Nocturnal enuresis (bedwetting/sleepwetting), Pancreatic inflammation, Liver injury, Bone marrow depression, Extra pyramidal symptom, Gastrointestinal disorder, Hair loss, Hematological disorder, Increased ammonia level in blood, Reduced blood platelets, Tremor, Weight gain, Decreased white blood cell count
