Lorel 2 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of short term anxiety.

How to use Lorel Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Lorel 2 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Lorel Tablet works

Lorel 2 mg Tablet is a benzodiazepine. It works by increasing the action of a chemical messenger (GABA) which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.

Lorel 2 mg Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.
Pregnancy

Lorel 2 mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy.
There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
Lorel 2 mg Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Lorel 2 mg Tablet should be used for short periods and sleepiness of the baby should be watched. The withdrawal of Lorel 2 mg Tablet should be gradual.
Driving
Lorel 2 mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney
SAFE
Lorel 2 mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Lorel 2 mg Tablet is recommended.
However, inform your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease.
Liver
CAUTION
Lorel 2 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Lorel 2 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Lorel 2 mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.

What if you miss a dose of Lorel Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Lorel 2 mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
