It can be taken with or without food, but it is better to take Lorazen injection at a fixed time.

Uses

Lorazen injection is used in the treatment of insomnia (difficulty in sleeping) and short term anxiety.

How it works

Lorazen injection induces sleep and controls seizures or fits by increasing the action of GABA, a chemical messenger which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.

  • if you are allergic to benzodiazepines, or to any of the other ingredients in lorazepam tablets.
  • if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning for a baby.

  • if you have a personality disorder because you may have a greater chance of becoming dependent on lorazepam.
  • if you are suffering from depression or had a history of depression or with suicidal thoughts.
  • if you have an eye problem called glaucoma (high pressure within the eye).
Lorazepam may be habit-forming and should be used only by the person it was prescribed for. Keep the medication in a secure place where others cannot get to it. It should be used for only a short time. Do not take this medication for longer than 4 months without your doctor's advice.Do not suddenly stop lorazepam, without your doctor’s advise as it may cause your sleeping problem and anxiety to return. In addition, it may cause headaches, restlessness, confusion, irritability, tension, depression, muscle pain, sweating etc. Do not drive or work with machines while taking this medicine as it may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, forgetful, or may affect your concentration.
