Introduction of Lipigoal Tablet

Lipigoal 10 Tablet is a medicine used to treat high cholesterol. This medicine helps by lowering "bad" cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides (fats). It may be used with some other medicines to treat and reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke. Lifestyle changes like low-fat diet, exercise, and not smoking may help this medicine to work better. It may cause diarrhea as a side effect, so it is better to have this medicine with food. Stomach pain, muscle pain, and weakness are some other side effects associated with this medicine.

How to use Lipigoal Tablet

How Lipigoal Tablet works

Lipigoal 10 Tablet is a lipid-lowering medication (statin). It works by blocking an enzyme (HMG-CoA-reductase) that is required in the body to make cholesterol. It thus lowers "bad" cholesterol (LDL), triglycerides and raises "good" cholesterol (HDL).

CAUTION
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Lipigoal 10 Tablet. Taking Atorvastatin with alcohol may increase the risk of liver damage.
Pregnancy
CAUTION
Lipigoal 10 Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Human and animal studies have shown significant adverse effects on the fetus. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
Lipigoal 10 Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Driving
SAFE
Lipigoal 10 Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
SAFE
Lipigoal 10 Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Lipigoal 10 Tablet is recommended.
However, inform your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease.
Liver
CAUTION
Lipigoal 10 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Lipigoal 10 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Lipigoal 10 Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.

What if you miss a dose of Lipigoal Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Lipigoal 10 Tablet, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.
