How to use Stator Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Stator 10 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
How Stator Tablet works
Stator 10 Tablet is a lipid-lowering medication (statin). It works by blocking an enzyme (HMG-CoA-reductase) that is required in the body to make cholesterol. It thus lowers "bad" cholesterol (LDL), triglycerides and raises "good" cholesterol (HDL).

Alcohol

Taking Atorvastatin with alcohol may increase the risk of liver damage.
Pregnancy
CAUTION
Stator 10 Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Human and animal studies have shown significant adverse effects on the foetus. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
Stator 10 Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Driving

Stator 10 Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
SAFE
Stator 10 Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Stator 10 Tablet is recommended.
However, inform your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease.
Liver
CAUTION
Stator 10 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Stator 10 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Stator 10 Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.
What if you miss a dose of Stator Tablet?
If you miss a dose of Stator 10 Tablet, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.

  • Stator 10 Tablet treats high cholesterol by lowering "bad" cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides (fats). Take it along with regular exercise and low-fat diet.
  • It also reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke.
  • In general, Stator 10 Tablet is safe. It may cause diarrhoea, gas or an upset stomach. If any of these happen to you, take it with food.
  • Inform your doctor if you experience fatigue, muscle weakness or muscle pain. 
  • Your doctor may monitor your liver function before starting treatment and regularly thereafter. Inform your doctor if you notice signs of liver problem such as yellowing of skin or eyes, unusually dark urine or stomach pains.
  • Inform your doctor  if you have kidney disease, liver disease or diabetes.  If you are diabetic, monitor your blood sugar level regularly  as Stator 10 Tablet may cause an increase in your blood sugar level.
  • Do not take Stator 10 Tablet if you are pregnant or planning to conceive.

Cholesterol is a type of fat present in your blood. Your total cholesterol is made up of LDL and HDL cholesterol. LDL cholesterol is called “bad” cholesterol as it can build up in the wall of your blood vessels and slow or obstruct blood flow to your heart, brain, and other organs. This can cause heart diseases and stroke. HDL cholesterol is called “good” cholesterol as it prevents the bad cholesterol from building up in the blood vessels. Triglycerides also are harmful fats found in your blood.
