Isavufic 200mg Tablet can be taken with or without food. Take it exactly as your doctor has advised. Swallow the whole capsule, do not chew, crush, dissolve, or open the capsules. Continue to take the medicine until you finish your complete course, even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping it too early may result in a return of the infection.
The most common side effects of this medicine include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, increased liver enzymes, decreased potassium level in blood, constipation, breathlessness, cough, peripheral edema, and back pain. If any of these side effects persist or worsen, consult with your doctor. In rare cases, Isavufic 200mg Tablet may cause serious liver disease. Get medical help right away if you have any symptoms of liver damage, including persistent nausea/vomiting, loss of appetite, stomach/abdominal pain, yellowing eyes/skin, or dark urine.
Before taking the medicine, tell your doctor if you have any known history of allergy to this medicine. Let your doctor also if you have any preexisting medical conditions, especially liver disease and heart problems. This medicine may make you dizzy. Avoid consumption of alcohol while on treatment with this medicine. Additionally, do not drive, use machinery, or do anything that needs alertness until you know how the medicine works. Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, as it can cause harmful effects to the developing baby.

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Isavufic 200mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with liver disease. No dose adjustment is recommended.
However, clinical monitoring for isavuconazole-related adverse reactions is recommended when treating patients with severe hepatic impairment.

Interaction with drugs
Taking Isavufic with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects
Severe
Ranolazine (Oral Route)
Watch out for symptoms of Isavuconazole side effects such as nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, constipation or weakness and consult your doctor if you experience them. They may adjust the dose of Isavuconazole accordingly. Isavuconazole may raise blood levels of Ranolazine.
Severe
Lemborexant (Oral Route)
Do not consume Lemborexant with Isavuconazole. Isavuconazole may raise blood levels of Lemborexant.
Severe
Sirolimus (Injection Route)
If concurrent use is essential, your doctor may monitor your treatment and adjust the doses as per the observations. Sirolimus may increase the metabolism of Isavuconazole.

No, do not stop taking Isavufic 200mg Tablet without consulting your doctor even if you are feeling better. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cured. Therefore, for better and complete treatment, it is advised to continue your treatment for the prescribed duration.
If you forget a dose of Isavufic 200mg Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next scheduled dose in the prescribed time. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one as this may increase the chances of developing side effects.
