Uses of Glimestar Tablet

Glimestar 4 Tablet is used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. It is used along with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes.

How to use Glimestar Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Glimestar 4 Tablet is to be taken with food.

How Glimestar Tablet works

Glimestar 4 Tablet is an anti-diabetic medication. It works by increasing the amount of insulin released by the pancreas in order to lower the blood glucose.

Alcohol
CAUTION
Alcohol intake may increase or decrease the blood sugar lowering action in an unpredictable way.
Pregnancy
WEIGH RISKS VS BENEFITS
Glimestar 4 Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
Glimestar 4 Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Monitoring of the breastfed infant's blood glucose is advisable during maternal therapy with Glimestar 4 Tablet
Driving
Your ability to drive may be affected if your blood sugar is low or high. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
Glimestar 4 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Glimestar 4 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Glimestar 4 Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease. These patients can experience very low blood sugar levels which may become normal after a long time.
Liver
CAUTION
Glimestar 4 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Glimestar 4 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Glimestar 4 Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease. These patients can experience very low blood sugar levels which may become normal after a long time.

What if you miss a dose of Glimestar Tablet?

You should skip a dose of Glimestar 4 Tablet, if a meal is skipped and add a dose of medicine if you eat an extra meal.

  • Take it shortly before or with the first main meal of the day (usually breakfast). Avoid skipping meals.
  • Exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet, and take your other diabetes medicines (if prescribed) alongside.
  • Monitor your blood sugar level regularly while you are taking this medicine. 
  • Be careful while driving or operating machinery until you know how Glimestar 4 Tablet affects you.
  • It can cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) when used with other antidiabetic medicines, alcohol or if you delay or miss a meal. 
  • Always carry some sugary food or fruit juice with you in case you experience hypoglycemic symptoms such as cold sweats, cool pale skin, tremor, and anxiety.
  • Your doctor may check your liver function regularly. Inform your doctor if you develop symptoms such as abdominal pain, loss of appetite, or yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice).

My sugar levels in fasting is.146 today. Last week it's 115. Iam taking Glimestar M2 fort in night and glimestar m2 fort ,zita plus 20mg in morning.in morning my.sugar levels increasing.so what can I.do? Advice me to change any medicine. Is there any substitute for other than metformin combination.

Try to modify lifestyle.Follow a diabatic diet chart made by dietician. Do exercise regularly and continue the medicine which you are taking regularly. Try for one month, if there is no change in blood sugar level then think about to change dosage of medicine.
