Geftib Tablet should be taken in a dose as recommended by the doctor. You should continue to take it as long as your doctor advises for it. The duration of treatment varies according to your need and response to treatment. Your doctor may advice for regular monitoring of liver function while your taking this medicine.

Common side effects include diarrhea, dry skin, loss of appetite, and nausea. Drink plenty of fluids to reduce the risk of side effects. Inform your doctor if any of the side effects bother you or get worse. In case you develop ulceration in mouth, changes in your vision, or breathing difficulties than it is better to inform the doctor.

Women who are undergoing treatment should use effective contraception method. It is important to avoid pregnancy during the treatment and for a month after completing the course of medicine. Let your doctor also know about all the other medications you are taking.

You should avoid drinking alcohol while having this treatment and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

Geftib Tablet helps treat non-small cell lung cancer that is locally advanced, or has spread to other areas of the body.
Take it with or without food, preferably at the same time each day.
Do not take antacids (to reduce the acid level of your stomach) 2 hours before or 1 hour after taking this medicine.
Diarrhea may occur as a side effect. Drink plenty of fluids and inform your doctor if it doesn't stop or if you find blood in your stools.
Use a reliable contraceptive method to prevent pregnancy while you are taking this medicine and for a month after you stop taking it.
Inform your doctor if you develop ulceration in your mouth, changes in your vision or if you experience a worsening cough, shortness of breath, or breathing difficulties while taking this medicine.
Your doctor may want you to have regular blood tests to monitor your liver function while you are having treatment with this medicine.

Geftib Tablet should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from the body.

Interaction with drugs

Taking Geftib with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Life-threatening

Vinorelbine (Injection Route)

Do not consume Gefitinib with Vinorelbine.

Severe

Vinblastine (Injection Route)

Concomitant use is not recommended. Please consult with your doctor. Gefitinib may raise blood levels of Vinblastine.

Severe

Vincristine (Injection Route)

Concomitant use is not recommended. Please consult with your doctor. Gefitinib may raise blood levels of Vincristine.

Moderate

Paroxetine (Oral Route)

Watch out for symptoms of Gefitinib side effects such as diarrhea, dry eye, vomiting, breathing problems, decreased appetite or rash and consult your doctor if you experience them. Paroxetine may raise blood levels of Gefitinib.

Aprepitant (Oral Route)
