How to use Estina Eye Drop
This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off the extra liquid.
How Estina Eye Drop works
Estina Eye Drop is an antiallergic. It works by blocking the action of a chemical messenger (histamine) which is responsible for red, itchy, watery eyes.
Quick tips
- Your doctor has prescribed Estina Eye Drop to treat inflammation (redness and swelling) due to allergies of the eye.
- It treats short-term or sudden allergic reactions in the eye.
- Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop.
- Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution.
- Stinging sensation may occur for 1-2 mins. Notify your doctor if it persists for longer.
- Make sure to use within 4 weeks of opening the bottle.
- Your doctor has prescribed Estina Eye Drop to help relieve allergy symptoms such as itching, swelling and rashes.
- As compared to other similar medications, it is much less likely to make you feel sleepy.
- Be cautious while driving or doing anything that requires concentration as it can cause dizziness and sleepiness.
- Do not drink alcohol while taking this medication as it may cause increased sleepiness.
- Stop taking Estina Eye Drop at least 3 days before taking an allergy test as it can affect the test results.

Taking Estina with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Your doctor may frequently monitor your blood clotting time. Epinastine may reduce the efficacy of Dalteparin.

The Estina Eye Drop should be instilled in the affected eye(s) with one drop twice daily. The duration of treatment with Estina Eye Drop will depend upon the disease condition, its severity, and the response of the patient to the treatment. The medicine can be given for as long as four months, if considered necessary. However, the exact duration is decided by your doctor.
