Emtaf-B Tablet should be used in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Do not skip any doses, and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Take it with food, as this increases the absorption of the medicine into the body. It is important to keep taking them until your doctor tells you it is safe to stop.

Common side effects of this medicine include headache, diarrhea, nausea, joint pain, abdominal pain, and indigestion. Please consult your doctor if it persists for a longer duration. These are usually not serious, but tell your doctor if they bother you or do not go away. Rarely, some people may experience a skin reaction or liver damage. Your doctor will closely monitor you for these in the initial period of treatment.

Before taking it, tell your doctor if you have any skin problems or liver or kidney disease. While using it, you may need regular blood tests to check your blood counts and liver function. Avoid drinking alcohol, as it may increase your risk of liver damage. Pregnant or breastfeeding mothers should consult their doctor before using this medicine. If this infection is not treated, it can lead to severe liver damage, which can cause other life-threatening problems, such as liver failure, or may also be fatal.

Do not use Tenofovir Alafenamide with Fosphenytoin. If concurrent use is essential, talk to your doctor. Fosphenytoin may reduce blood levels of Tenofovir Alafenamide.

Do not use Tenofovir Alafenamide with Oxcarbazepine. If concurrent use is essential, talk to your doctor. Oxcarbazepine may reduce blood levels of Tenofovir Alafenamide.

In case of HIV-1 infection, Emtaf-B Tablet may reduce the risk of passing the virus to others, but the chances of infecting others persist. However, in the case of HBV infection, Emtaf-B Tablet has not proven to reduce the risk of transmitting the virus to others. Therefore, patients with both HIV-1 infection and HBV infection should practice safe sex and should not share dirty needles.

If vomiting occurs within 1 hour of taking Emtaf-B Tablet, then you should take another dose. However, if you vomit more than an hour after taking Emtaf-B Tablet, then you need not take another dose. Consult your doctor if you have vomiting every time you take Emtaf-B Tablet or if the vomiting persists for a longer duration.

What should I do if I forget to take Emtaf-B Tablet?

If you forget to take Emtaf-B Tablet within 12 hours of the time you usually take it, take Emtaf-B Tablet with food as soon as possible and resume the normal dosing schedule. However, if it has been more than 12 hours since you took the medicine and it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and simply resume the usual dosing schedule.
