You should continue all your other medicines that are advised by the doctor for your long-term treatment even after this injection. Your doctor may advise for regular monitoring of blood pressure while you are taking this medicine.
The most common side effects of this medicine include nausea, vomiting, and increased heart rate. This medicine may not be suitable for some people. Efipres Injection is used to relieve low blood pressure (hypotension) which may occur due to administration of anesthesia in the spine during an operation. FAQs
What is Efipres Injection used for?
Efipres Injection is mainly used to treat sudden low blood pressure (hypotension) that can occur during anesthesia in surgeries. It works by stimulating certain receptors in the body to increase blood pressure and improve circulation.
Can Efipres Injection cause high blood pressure?
Yes, Efipres Injection can sometimes raise blood pressure too much, especially if it is given repeatedly or in higher doses. Doctors carefully monitor your blood pressure during treatment to avoid dangerous spikes in hypertension.
Is Efipres Injection safe for elderly patients?
Older adults may be more sensitive to Efipres Injection because of age-related changes in heart, kidney, or liver function. Doctors usually start with lower doses and monitor them closely to prevent complications like irregular heartbeat or excessive blood pressure rise.
What are the serious side effects of Efipres Injection?
Serious side effects of Efipres Injection may include fast or irregular heartbeat, chest pain, dizziness, severe headache, or sudden rise in blood pressure. If these occur, immediate medical attention is required.
Why should Efipres Injection not be given repeatedly in high doses?
Repeated use of Efipres Injection can cause tolerance, meaning the body stops responding effectively. This may reduce its ability to control blood pressure, and alternative medicines may then be needed.
Can Efipres Injection affect the heart?
Yes, Efipres Injection can increase heart rate and may cause irregular heartbeats in some patients. People with heart disease, arrhythmias, or who are taking heart medications should be carefully monitored when receiving this medicine.
