Product introduction

Domin Injection also improves urine output and may help to prevent kidney failure in critically ill patients. It is administered under the supervision of a doctor as it requires continuous blood pressure monitoring. The dose has to be individually adjusted as per the patient's response to the therapy. You should continue all your other medicines that are advised by the doctor for your long-term treatment even after this injection. Your doctor may advise for regular monitoring of blood pressure.

Side effects of this medicine include palpitations, tachycardia (increased heart rate), and headache. You must inform the doctor if you are suffering from any liver or kidney disease. Also, let your doctor know about all the other medications that you are using regularly.

Uses of Domin Injection

Benefits of Domin Injection

Low blood pressure
Domin Injection is used to normalise decreased blood pressure (hypotension) which may occur all of a sudden during an operation, severe infection (sepsis) or due to an emergency condition (cardiac arrest). This medicine helps to bring back the blood pressure within normal range and therefore prevents any sudden fall or even serious complications that might have otherwise followed due to low blood pressure.

Side effects of Domin Injection

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them
Common side effects of Domin
  • Flushing (sense of warmth in the face, ears, neck and trunk)
  • Headache
  • Increased heart rate
  • Palpitations

How to use Domin Injection

Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.

How Domin Injection works

Domin Injection is a sympathomimetic agonist. It works on the receptors in the kidney, gut, brain and heart thereby relaxing the blood vessels in these organs. This restores the poor blood supply and oxygen delivery to these organs. It also causes an increase in urine production in the kidneys and protects them from injury.

Frequently asked questions

Domin Injection is used in emergency and critical care settings to treat severe low blood pressure, shock, and certain heart-related conditions. It helps improve blood circulation to vital organs when the body is unable to maintain adequate blood flow on its own. The medicine is administered under close medical supervision in a hospital setting.
Domin Injection contains dopamine, which works by stimulating specific receptors in the heart and blood vessels to improve circulation. Its effects vary depending on the dose used. At lower doses, it can help improve blood flow to certain organs, while at moderate doses it increases the strength of the heart's contractions, helping the heart pump more effectively. At higher doses, it causes blood vessels to narrow, which helps raise blood pressure. Together, these actions help maintain adequate blood flow and oxygen delivery to vital organs.
In certain cases of heart failure, Domin Injection may be used to help the heart pump blood more effectively. By improving circulation and supporting blood flow to vital organs, it can help stabilize patients who require urgent medical care and close monitoring.
Domin Injection may help improve blood flow to the kidneys in patients with severely reduced circulation. When blood flow improves, kidney function and urine output may also improve. Your doctor will monitor your response carefully to assess whether the treatment is providing the desired benefit.
Domin Injection is given as an intravenous infusion by a doctor in a hospital or critical care setting. The dose and infusion rate are adjusted based on the patient's condition, blood pressure, heart rate, and overall response to treatment.
No, Domin Injection should not be self-administered. It requires continuous monitoring and careful dose adjustments by your doctor. Because it can significantly affect blood pressure and heart function, treatment should only be given in a medical setting where appropriate monitoring is available.
Domin Injection can have a direct effect on blood pressure, heart rate, and circulation. Regular monitoring helps your doctor to ensure that the medicine is working as intended and allows them to adjust the dose if needed. This helps improve safety and treatment effectiveness.
Domin Injection affects the heart and blood vessels; your doctor will closely monitor for significant changes in blood pressure, heart rhythm, or circulation. Any sudden worsening of symptoms, chest discomfort, breathing difficulties, or unusual reactions should be reported immediately to your doctor.
If Domin Injection is needed during pregnancy, the decision to use it will be made by the doctor after carefully assessing the benefits and potential risks. Since it is generally used in emergency situations, treatment decisions are based on the mother's medical condition and clinical need.
Patients with liver or kidney problems should inform their doctor before receiving Domin Injection. These conditions may influence overall treatment planning and monitoring. Your doctor will determine the most appropriate approach based on your medical history and current condition.
Yes, Domin Injection may interact with certain medicines. Before treatment begins, inform your doctor about all prescription medicines, over-the-counter products, and supplements you are taking. This helps reduce the risk of unwanted interactions and ensures safe use of the medicine.
Since Domin Injection is generally administered in a hospital setting for serious medical conditions, alcohol consumption should be avoided unless your doctor advises otherwise. Your doctor can provide guidance based on your condition and ongoing treatment.
The decision to reduce or stop Domin Injection is made by your dcotor based on your clinical condition. Because the medicine is used to support blood pressure and circulation, any changes in treatment are carefully managed and monitored to ensure patient safety.
Since Domin Injection is given directly into a vein, its effects usually begin shortly after administration. Your doctor will continuously assess blood pressure, heart rate, and overall circulation to determine how well the treatment is working and whether any dose adjustments are needed.
Domin Injection can significantly affect blood pressure, heart function, and circulation. Close medical supervision allows your doctor to monitor vital signs, adjust the dose when needed, and respond quickly to any side effects or changes in the patient's condition.
Before treatment, inform your doctor about any heart conditions, blood vessel disorders, liver or kidney problems, ongoing medications, allergies, pregnancy, or breastfeeding. This information helps your doctor to decide whether Domin Injection is suitable and how it should be administered safely.
