Introduction

Cloneon Injection is a medicine used in the urgent treatment of hypertensive emergency (severely increased blood pressure). It brings about rapid reduction in blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels. Lowering the blood pressure helps to prevent future stroke and heart attack.

Cloneon Injection is injected by or under the supervision of a doctor. Continuous blood pressure monitoring is needed while giving this medicine. You should continue all your medicines that are advised by the doctor for long-term treatment of hypertension even after this emergency injection.

Common side effects associated with this injection includes dizziness, dry mouth, and constipation. You must inform the doctor if you are suffering from any liver or kidney disease. Before taking it, let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

What if you forget to take Cloneon Injection?

If you miss a dose of Cloneon Injection, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

  • It is given as an IV infusion under the supervision of a doctor.
  • Cloneon Injection may cause dizziness or sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you.

Persistent high arterial blood pressure above 120/80 mm HG is termed as pre-hypertension or hypertension, but the point to be emphasized is that this rise in blood pressure is persistent. Transient increase in BP occurs in stress and anxiety and needs to be treated accordingly.

Cloneon Injection may also be used in the treatment of dysmenorrhea (severely painful cramps during menstrual period), menopausal hot flashes. It also helps in alcohol and opiate (narcotic) withdrawal and smoking cessation. The use of Cloneon Injection also treats Tourette's syndrome which is characterized by the need to perform repeated motions or to repeat sounds or words. Cloneon Injection is also used to diagnose pheochromocytoma (a tumor that develops on a gland near the kidneys and may cause high blood pressure and fast heart rate).
