How to use Cetriliv M Syrup

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Cetriliv M Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Cetriliv M Syrup is an antihistaminic medication. It treats allergy symptoms such as such as itching, swelling, and rashes by blocking the effects of a chemical messenger (histamine) in the body.

CAUTION
Cetriliv M Syrup may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Pregnancy
PROBABLY SAFE
Cetriliv M Syrup is probably safe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the fetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
Cetriliv M Syrup is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Larger doses or more prolonged use of Cetriliv M Syrup may cause drowsiness and other effects in the baby or decrease the milk supply
Driving
Cetriliv M Syrup may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
Cetriliv M Syrup should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Cetriliv M Syrup may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Cetriliv M Syrup is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
Liver
SAFE
Cetriliv M Syrup is safe to use in patients with liver disease. No dose adjustment of Cetriliv M Syrup is recommended.

Q. Is Cetriliv M a steroid? What is it used for?

Cetriliv M is an anti-allergic medication, not a steroid. It relieves the symptoms of allergy. It is used to relieve runny nose, sneezing, and redness, itching, and watering of the eyes caused by hay fever or seasonal allergies. It also relieves similar symptoms caused due to allergies to substances such as dust mites, animal dander, and mold. It is also used to treat symptoms of hives, including itching and rash.

Q. Does Cetriliv M make you tired and drowsy?

Yes, Cetriliv M can make you tired, sleepy and weak. If you have these symptoms, you should avoid driving or operating heavy machinery.

Q. How long does it take for Cetriliv M to work?

You will notice an improvement within an hour of taking Cetriliv M. However, it may take a little longer to notice the full benefits.

Q. Can I take Cetriliv M and fexofenadine together?

Sometimes doctor may advise you to take two different antihistamines together if you are being treated for a severe itchy rash. If you are taking Cetriliv M during daytime, your doctor may prescribe another antihistamine which causes sleepiness for the night, especially if the itch makes it difficult for you to sleep. Do not take 2 antihistamines together unless recommended by your doctor.

Cetriliv M is safe if used as prescribed by your doctor. Moreover, it is unlikely to harm you if you take it for a long time. But, it is best to take Cetriliv M for as long as you need it.

The duration of the medicine depends on why you are taking Cetriliv M. If you are taking it for an insect bite, you may need it for a day or two. You may need to take Cetriliv M for a longer time if you are taking it to prevent symptoms of chronic allergic rhinitis (inflammation of nose) or chronic urticaria.
