Birone 10 Tablet may be taken with or without food. However, it is advised to take it at the same time each day as this helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body. Take this in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor and if you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember. This medication mustn't be stopped suddenly without talking to your doctor as it may worsen your symptoms.

Some common side effects of this medicine include nausea, headache. It also causes dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you and do not take alcohol with it as it may worsen the dizziness.

Before taking this medicine, remember to inform your doctor if you have any medical conditions like acute narrow-angle glaucoma, myasthenia gravis, slurred speech, or drug dependence issues.

Use of Birone 10 Tablet should is not advised in patients with severe kidney disease.

Liver

Use of Birone 10 Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.

Interaction with drugs

Taking Birone with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Severe

Tranylcypromine (Oral Route)

Do not consume Tranylcypromine with Buspirone. If Tranylcypromine is essential, ensure a gap of at least 2 weeks after discontinuing Buspirone. Please consult your doctor.

Moderate

Imatinib mesylate (Oral Route)

If concurrent use is essential, watch out for symptoms of Buspirone side effects such as nausea, headache, dizziness, fatigue, constipation or weakness and consult your doctor if you experience them. They may adjust the dose of Buspirone accordingly. Imatinib mesylate may raise blood levels of Buspirone.

Moderate

Mifepristone (Oral Route)

If concurrent use is essential, watch out for symptoms of Buspirone side effects such as nausea, headache, vomiting, sleepiness, dizziness, constipation or dry mouth and consult your doctor if you experience them. They may adjust the dose of Buspirone accordingly. Mifepristone may raise blood levels of Buspirone.

Moderate

Vilazodone (Oral Route)

Watch out for symptoms of serotonin syndrome such as tremors, fever, diarrhea or agitation and consult your doctor if you experience them. Your doctor may monitor and adjust the doses as per the observations.

Moderate

Linezolid (Oral Route)

Do not consume Linezolid with Buspirone. If concurrent use is essential, watch out for symptoms of serotonin syndrome such as tremors, fever, diarrhea or agitation and consult your doctor if you experience them. Your doctor may monitor and adjust the doses as per the observations.
