    Beza 400mg tablet xl is used in the treatment of increased cholesterol levels in blood and increased triglycerides levels in blood.

    How beza tablet xl works

    Beza 400mg tablet xl stimulates the formation of enzymes for triglyceride metabolism, which in turn lowers the levels of triglyceride and cholesterol in the body.

    • You should use Bezafibrate along with diet, physical activity, weight loss and after adequate treatment of other metabolic disorders (e.g. diabetes, gout).
    • Bezafibrate may cause severe muscle pain/ damage (myopathy/Rhabdomyolysis) with increase in creatine kinase (CPK). You should be monitored periodically (through CPK and Liver Enzyme levels) for myopathy. 
    • Bezafibrate should be used with caution in combination with statins as the combination may increase the incidence and severity of myopathy.
    • Before taking Bezafibrate, make sure that the secondary causes of dyslipidemia, such as uncontrolled type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypothyroidism, nephrotic syndrome, dysproteinemia, obstructive liver disease and alcoholism have been adequately treated.
    • If you have impaired kidney function, you may need regular monitoring while on bezafibrate therapy.
    • Bezafibrate may cause dizziness. Do not drive or operate machinery until you feel fine.
    • Tell your doctor if you are or planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.
