Betapress 50 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of high blood pressure, chest pain (angina) and arrhythmias.

How to use Betapress Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Betapress 50 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Betapress Tablet works

Betapress 50 mg Tablet is a beta blocker that works specifically on the heart. It works by slowing down the heart rate and makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood around the body.

Alcohol
CAUTION
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Betapress 50 mg Tablet. Atenolol and alcohol may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate.
Pregnancy
WEIGH RISKS VS BENEFITS
Betapress 50 mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy.
There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
CAUTION
Betapress 50 mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Driving
Betapress 50 mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
Betapress 50 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Betapress 50 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Regular monitoring of blood pressure is recommended and can help in better dose adjustment.
Liver
There is limited information available on the use of Betapress 50 mg Tablet in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.
