Azarbi 40 Tablet

Overview

Introduction of Azarbi Tablet

Azarbi 40 Tablet belongs to a group of medicines known as ACE inhibitors. It is widely used to treat high blood pressure and heart failure and may be prescribed after a heart attack. It also lowers the chances of having a heart attack or stroke.

Azarbi 40 Tablet works by lowering your blood pressure and making it easier for your heart to pump blood around your body. It can be taken with or without food. For best results, take the tablets at the same time each day. It is important to continue taking it even if you feel well or even if your blood pressure is controlled. Most people with high blood pressure do not feel ill, but if you stop taking this medicine, your condition could get worse. This is a widely prescribed medicine and is considered safe for long-term use. Making some changes in your lifestyle will also help lower your blood pressure. These may include regular exercise, losing weight, smoking cessation, reducing alcohol intake, and reducing the amount of salt in your diet.

The most common side effects of this medicine include feeling dizzy or drowsy, headache, dry cough, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, and low blood pressure. Most of these are temporary and resolve with time. Talk to your doctor if any of the side effects bother you or do not go away. Your doctor will monitor your blood pressure, kidney function, and potassium levels regularly while you’re taking this medicine. It is not suitable for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Voglibose and pioglitazone both are medications used for diabetes but there mechanism of action is different and so are their side effects. Voglibose acts to reduce post prandial blood glucose whereas pioglitazone improves insulin sensitivity and improves glycemic control. Voglibose causes gastric side effects and sometimes affects the liver whereas pioglitazone should not be given to patients with heart ailments as it can worsen heart failure.

Q. Can I stop Azarbi on my own?

No, do not stop taking Azarbi without speaking to your doctor, even if you are feeling well or your blood pressure is controlled. Stopping it suddenly may increase your blood pressure which may increase your risk of stroke.

Q. How long does Azarbi take to start working?

Azarbi may take about 2 weeks to show a visible reduction in blood pressure. Full benefits of Azarbi may take a little longer, about 4 weeks.

Taking more than the recommended dose of Azarbi may decrease your blood pressure due to which you may feel dizzy or may even faint. Consult your doctor immediately or seek emergency medical aid in a nearby hospital.

Q. Which class does Azarbi belong to?

Azarbi belongs to a class of medicines called angiotensin II receptor antagonists (AIIRAs). Angiotensin II is a substance which occurs naturally in the body. It tightens the blood vessels, which in turn increases the blood pressure. Azarbi blocks this effect so that the blood vessels relax, which helps lower your blood pressure.

Q. What is the most important information I should know about Azarbi?

It is important for you to know that this medicine can cause harm or death to your unborn baby. Therefore, if you are planning a pregnancy or have become pregnant, consult your doctor right away. Your doctor may switch you to a different medicine to treat your high blood pressure.

Q. Who should not take Azarbi?

You should not take Azarbi if you are allergic to it or if you are pregnant. Avoid its use if you have diabetes or impaired kidney function and are being treated with a blood pressure-lowering medicine containing aliskiren.
