How to use Aticool Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Aticool 2mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Aticool Tablet works

Aticool 2mg Tablet is a benzodiazepine. It works by increasing the action of GABA, a chemical messenger which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.

  • If you are taking Aticool for the treatment of insomnia and anxiety, it should not be used more than 4 weeks.
  • It may become less effective over the time.

  • Avoid consuming alcohol when taking the Aticool, as it may cause excessive sleepiness or drowsiness.

Alcohol
CAUTION
Aticool 2mg Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Pregnancy

Aticool 2mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy.
There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
Aticool 2mg Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Aticool 2mg Tablet should be used for short periods and sleepiness of the baby should be watched. The withdrawal of Aticool 2mg Tablet should be gradual.
Driving
Aticool 2mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney
SAFE
Aticool 2mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Aticool 2mg Tablet is recommended.
However, inform your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease.
Liver
CAUTION
Aticool 2mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Aticool 2mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Aticool 2mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
